Traditional or digital perm?
Our salon specializing in Korean and Japanese hairdressing techniques offers you the choice between traditional or simple perm and digital perm. But what exactly are the differences between these two services?
Traditional permanent
The traditional perm has been around for decades and is a time-tested way to achieve beautiful, curly hair.
It involves wrapping the hair around rods, which are then treated with a perm product. The solution breaks the bonds of the hair, allowing it to be reshaped into curls. The rods are then heated, and the loops are fixed in place. The whole process takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, and the results can last a few months, depending on how well you take care of your hair.
Permanently digital
Digital perm, on the other hand, is a newer and more technically advanced perm method. Unlike traditional perms, which use heat to set curls, digital perms use sophisticated heaters that allow for more precise temperature control.
The heat is thus better distributed and the hair is not damaged. Additionally, digital perm can produce tighter, more defined curls than traditional perm, which is especially beneficial for people with straight hair. The digital perm process takes approximately 2.5 to 4 hours and results can last up to 6 months.
So what to choose?
It depends on your hair type, desired end result and your lifestyle. If you have naturally curly hair or want looser, more natural-looking curls, a traditional perm may be the best bet. On the other hand, if you have straight hair and want tight, defined curls, a digital perm might be the best option for you.
